Frantz Throw

The Frantz Throw was designed by Sebastian Eriksson, a Swedish artist who works across collage, illustration and sculpture. 

His process is fluid by design - chance and the subconscious play just as big a role as order and planning. The Frantz Throw is a good example of that approach in action. The design is laid out as a three by three grid, with each panel containing a different organic shape - mushroom forms, rounded blobs, arched curves and abstract silhouettes in mustard yellow, burnt orange, charcoal black and warm grey across a cream background. The shapes bleed across the grid lines in places, giving it a loose, almost collaged quality.

Every Slowdown Studio throw starts as an original artwork. We collaborate with independent artists around the world to translate their creativity into woven form. The Frantz Throw is jacquard woven in the USA from cotton with at least 25% recycled cotton: lightweight, textured, and built to last. Use it as a couch blanket, a bed blanket, a wall art tapestry, or wherever you need a little colour or personality.
