The Barlow Throw was designed by Sydney Beach Zester, an abstract artist based on the coast of North Carolina who works with heirloom and vintage textiles in geometric patterns.
The design for the Barlow is structured like a quilt: concentric frames working inward from a blush and grey outer border, through a stepping-stone ring of soft green and cream, to a slate blue inner frame, and finally a dense central field of terracotta and white triangles that shift and rotate like a compass spinning.
Every Slowdown Studio throw starts as an original artwork. We collaborate with independent artists around the world to translate their creativity into woven form. The Barlow Throw is jacquard woven in the USA from cotton with at least 25% recycled cotton: lightweight, textured, and built to last. Use it as a couch blanket, a bed blanket, a wall art tapestry, or wherever you need a little colour or personality.
